How did you guess? Lol Yes, me, but only with the aid of angled tweezers. My favourite gardening companion, be it transplanting seedlings, picking off dead leaves or or collecting grubs they are my most used piece of equipment.
I spent all yesterday moving and transplanting the semps from my bed. 8 ended up in pots and the rest in the blue tray that it took my Dad forever and several drill bits to drill through. It was early evening by then so rather than paint it and wait 2 days for it to dry I just put them in. There'll be time for that at a later date when everything gets moved around again. I need to top dress them today and then I'll post pics later.
The grubs seem to have come out of the bed looking for food, they had climbed into my seedling trays and one even made it up into my tin bath! I've lost a few seedlings and some baby arach noids
but thankfully I now know the signs, and managed to replant the babies before I lost any more. I also found some hiding under bags of compost and bricks. I bashed one with a brick. Hard. Buggy still wiggling. I put the brick back on it and jumped on it. Buggy STILL wiggling! These things are indestructible! So then I picked it up and put it in the bucket and drowned it like I did with all the others. There were too many to squish individually when I first started digging them up so rather than risk letting them escape again I sent them to a watery grave. Little did I realise that was probably the only way to get rid of them!
I also got my front garden pots filled with geraniums yesterday too, planted some lavender seeds, and split my spiral aloe seedlings. Although I only had enough windowsill space to bring 2seedlinds back inside. I had o leave the rest outside. I'llkeep a close eye on them, but hopefully they'll be ok during the summer. It was a very busy, but at the same time very relaxing day. Although my bed was definitely calling me early last night
