Control Z does wonders. Have you ever typed a whole post, only to accidentally select and replace it with a single key-stroke, just before you're about to hit post? Control-Z restores it. Kind of like a "back" button to undo what you just did. I don't know if it works on things like changing screen resolutions, but it might be worth a try!
