Rita, I'm way behind you! Hilarious! Hilarious! But in the end, it all seems to catch up so I'm not worried, gonna just do what I can. Well, I never catch up with the weeds. And we put straw down for mulch as well, after we let the chicken have it for a couple of weeks. Mine has way too many seeds in and just makes more work for me if we don't do that. But I'm running out of straw so we'll have to go get more. Isn't it a great mulch?

I used all the waffles I froze so I'll have to make more but you're welcome to come! Hilarious! Hilarious! We've been using freshly milled whole wheat flour my son mills and adding a few chopped pecans as well. DELICIOUS!!!

We're kind of known at market for having lots of varieties so we did about 8 or 9 varieties of melons as well. We have a lot of trouble with squash bugs so it's a challenge to get them to maturity. I put floating row covers on but since they hatch from the ground it seems they get in there anyway. I have to try and miss the hatching cycle so sometimes it pays to plant later. We also planted about 7 or 8 varieties of cukes, including a brown Yugoslavian, lemon, white along with regular salad types.

If the tomatoes are any indication of how the peppers will do now that they're in the ground, we're in good shape. The tomatoes are doing great. Two got broken from landscape fabric blowing up and knocking them over but I have replacements. We tried the dwarf kind this year and they look terrific. Hope the tomatoes are tasty. I'll take pictures of their progress.
