Thumb of 2013-05-15/Jewell/1f9820. These are photos of my new woodland area created by the neighbors fir trees planted just off the property line. I moved a dozen different varieties of ferns from other areas of the yard into this area as well as a lot of left overs from February on. All the hostas are new, gotten last year at the end of season sales Hurray! or this spring.

The area by the table and terraces are so new the worms haven't yet converted the cardboard under the mulch to compost yet (wall built and cardboard laid in February). I am impatiently waiting to plant some jack-in-the-pulpit's in that area. Some beds were created last summer.

Everything is filling in much faster than I had hoped. The branches in the beds are to discourage the dogs from tramping/racing through the beds. As it is the little dogs use the paths as race tracks, but the dobie sometimes just leaps from path to path to try to catch the little ones.

The white blur over by the cedar owl bench in this last photo is Amber.
