Brian--Rick and Oystein could give you the best explainations of what the chances are, even if you see no apparent endosperm. Take the case of those white/transparent seeds I had last Fall (that Rick refers a link above). Although I did not soak these, I did check underground development after 5 days. The seeds did not plump up at all, yet I could easily see that the embryo was growing visably larger. I did not candle my seeds, but there were quite a few I couldn't see embryos in, so I loaded the pot to the hilt with about 38 to 40 seeds, not knowing what to expect. Well, after about 12 days they started bobby pinning like the dickens and after 17 days I counted about 37-38 up so you never can tell really until you give it a try. Even if you only get 5 or 6 to grow, that's something you can work with. Heck, I've got 3 plantings right now with only one up in one, 2 in another and 0 in another (and that last one is on it's second sowing attempt). But getting back to you question, I'm interested, too, with whatever more information/experience others have about this.

I think they look as good as anything else in there.
Notice, it got a little cold on the cotyledons one night about 10 days ago. Rick, that stem of grass is compliments of the moss. I went by Moser Lee last week. Quite a big layout, interesting!
