I love the Meidiland landscaping roses. I avoid calling them groundcover roses because they put out those same 6-foot canes in my garden as in yours. They are almost always in bloom, though, and they do have attractive and healthy foliage. I have Cherry Meidiland, La Sevillana, and Fuchsia Meidiland.
Day Breaker is a comparatively old rose (2003), but you're right about Colorific. It's brand new this year. Edmund's, however, was already selling it last year, so it's not new to Edmund's.
Rouge Royale isn't new either. It's a 2000 rose. I bought mine from Syl Arena Roses way back when they were still in business. It's a nice healthy plant, but the blooms are a bit disappointing, balling in the rain and frizzling in the heat.
I personally have a problem with most roses named after people. I would much rather have Polka in my garden than Lord Byron, who stands out in my mind as a morose and creepy guy with incestuous urges.
