Tabby, I hope you are right, however I think your soil is probably more natural (keyword for horse manure) than is mine.

I have tried changing and adding a bit more sandy type mix into my MG Orchid Mix so am hoping for better results. It is really fast draining so I am going to have to watch it more closely for water needs.

Also Tabby gets quite a bit more sun than I have in my location.
I keep experimenting and will keep you all posted.

I am trying to keep the long view, instead of expecting instant results. (sigh.. it is so hard.. I want chicks and colonies NOW)
