My experience, all be it very limited, is that the peaches hang on quite well until picked. Even in some pretty windy weather. The few that might drop would be the ones that are not good, or when they get over ripe. I pick them just as they are turning soft, and haven't had many fall. You might think about getting one on dwarf root stock, or semi dwarf if you have some space limitations or don't want tons of fruit. I have gotten really good trees from Grampa's Orchard. Very nice quality trees and decent prices too.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
