We had a glorious day here today, too. Sunny skies, but not too hot, and a stiff breeze to blow the biting bugs off target.

I noticed just one of these fellows on a campanula a few days ago, and now I'm seeing lots of them!

I did a search on a hunch and found out that they're ladybugs in a stage of development I'd never before witnessed. If you try to get them to move, they'll hunch up their hindquarters at you! Hilarious! I know that action is probably a safety mechanism to ward off predators, but for some reason I found it hilarious!
