I am happy to hear I am not the only one with stunted scapes. Red, Hot, and Boom, which I purchased from Nicole last year has sent up 4 scapes that are only a foot tall and blooming below the foliage. All scapes are loaded with blooms. I sprayed my usual Murphy's oil on the buds to keep the thrips at bay. Works like a charm. Follow Your Fancy is also blooming with short scales. Today, I noticed 'Happy Returns' is full of scapes and tiny buds. So I guess it won't be long before those small little yellow clusters brighten my garden. Michelle, Mayalsian Marketplace which you sent me 6 weeks ago is loaded with big healthy blooms. As is Barbara Mandrell and Celtic Butterfly which James Hall sent to me 5 weeks ago. I didn't cut the scapes off. Inquisitive minds want to know! All blooms treated with magic Murphy's oil concoction. This has been a cool, wet Spring with more rain to come this week. 1 1/2 days of sunshine, and 4 days of rain. Then it repeats. Please, Mother Nature, bring on the sunshine! Grumbling Angel
