I was out and stopped at the local Nursery today and they had the boxed roses out. I call them Milk Carton roses because that is what the boxes look like.

So I bought FRANKLY SCARLETT nice red Floribunda and two BLACK MAGIC red HTs. I do already have one FRANKLY SCARLETT but I really like this rose so I wanted another one. I have one in my backyard and will be putting this one in the frontyard. Then I have BLACK MAGIC and it is my favorite HT, I have wanted another one for two years but somehow never got it. It just worked out today. I would have gotten one BLACK MAGIC but the roses were $22.95 apiece. But if you got three then they were $19.95 apiece so that was my excuse to get all three.

Prices were really up from prior years. They were $19.95 for one two years ago and then they went to $16.95 if you bought five then.

I have bought many of the boxed roses over the years, many of my roses started off as milk carton roses. If you look around my garden you could never tell which started this way, which came bare root or which was potted. I like them because they really are easy to plant being smaller plants and smaller roots. I always take them out of the box and plant like a bare root, I don't believe in planting the box like they tell you to do.
