I had to put another row of Florida weave on my tomato plants that I am supporting that way just now. They are growing like gangbusters.
Really looking forward to all the new to me varieties I am trying out this year. Of course I am looking forward to my old favorites also.
I have always bought seedlings at my local nursery but last year I thought I might try seeds this year. Bought lots of tomato seeds, still have them. Never wanted to start them in the middle of yucky winter. But anyway, the point of seeds is that you can grow tomato varieties one can not get as seedlings.
One place I found last year and bought seeds was Wild Boar Farms out in California. He has his own introductions and sells seeds. Aparantely does local Farmers markets in his area selling the tomatoes. So when I bought seeds I signed up for the e-mail newsletter.
Got a newsletter afew days ago, they are selling plants. The plants must be pre-ordered for 2014, cost more money any one in their right mind wants to pay and the shipping of 3 day air from California to here across the country costs as much as the plants did. And you can only order the combinations as he has listed. But none of that stopped me. I ordered two of the combo packs. Each has 4 plants so I will be getting 8 plants.

This is a really big thing for me. I grow tried and true hybrids that have been around for ages, not even heirlooms. So to try these exotic varieties will be quite the thing. But I am very taken by his intros. And now I don't need to worry about having to start tomato seed in the dead of winter.
