For those of us who primarily use one of the special plant databases v. the general plant database, it would be nice to have a way to set that as our "home database" in our site preferences. For example, 98% of the time, I'm heading to the plant database to look up a daylily.

The current configuration requires that I use one of the following four options:

1 - set the daylily database as a favorite/bookmark in my browser and access it that way

OR

2 - click on plant database then click "view our custom database" and then scroll down in the list and click on daylily database

OR

3- click on plant database, and grab the scroll bar on the quick list of custom databases and scroll down in the list to find the daylily database and click on it

OR

4 - type in the name of the plant I'm looking for and scroll through the resulting list until I find the daylily (or use a much more precise search method instead of just typing a partial name)

These are all very do-able options, but none of them are what I would call "super-convenient." But if I had an option in my profile to set Daylilies as my preferred database, then every time I clicked on "plant database," it could take me straight to the daylily database. If I wanted to look up something else, it's a single mouse-click to get back to the main plant database.

I would LOVE it if you could give us something like that Dave, and I'm probably not the only one. (I hope I'm not the only one). But here are a couple alternatives.

If something like a preferred database is too difficult to code, what about an option to "watch" a custom database the way we "watch" forums?

and if either of those ideas aren't workable (I *really* like the idea of setting a preferred database), is it possible to make those lists of custom databases jump-able as well as scroll-able. That is to say, if I type the letter "D" it would jump me to the D's and minimize the required scrolling to find the custom database I wanted to look at.

Thanks for listening!
