Happy New Year, y'all! It's been a balmy and rainy one here, pouring rain about an hour ago, but now just gentle patter. Whooshing some of it out West where it's needed so badly~~~~

As a non-smoke, I won't comment on the smoking issue, except to say it always sets off a major sinus infection for me to be around. My older daughter smokes and I can't stay in her house more than about 30 mins. without starting to cough and feel the effects. Visited her yesterday and felt as if I reeked of smoke when I left. Well, that was more than one comment, wasn't it?

It has amazed me how much cold newly planted roses can endure and emerge green and healthy!

Hope all of us have a simply marvelous 2011. May our gardens flourish and our children succeed, may our minds stay sharp and our dreams us lead!
I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day. ~F. Frankfort Moore, A Garden of Peace
