Is the ostrich plume fern you mention the same fern as the ostrich fern that grows wild (and profusely) here in Minnesota? At one time I was carefully transplanting excess plants to back in the woods but I soon got tired and just dumped a couple wheelbarrows full. They grew! Just as good as the ones I dug holes for. Ostrich fern are certainly beautiful... give almost a tropical
feel to the areas in my hosta glade where I allow them to grow.
