Leslie - a nice start to your collection. Now don't worry too much about the virus, BUT get yourself some Clorox wipes and get in the habit of wiping down your tools really well anytime they touch a hosta - before they touch the next hosta.

If the virus is in your garden, it will eventually show up (I had it show up this year in a hosta I bought in 2006 and I'm betting it was infected at the time I bought it as many were, even from good nurseries.) So don't get complacent about cleaning your tools. If you do that regularly, you may eventually have the virus show symptoms, and you may need to remove a plant and not place another hosta in that location, but you won't spread it to the rest of your plants as it is spread by sap to sap contact. And if you are worried about a few specific plants, get yourself some test strips. The symptoms I had this year were so vague that I was actually surprised when I got a positive test result.
