Well for me, I really liked the akadama and kanuma mix that I add with the regular cactus soil. But at times adding more perlite with the regular cactus soil works as well. And it helps to root them in really shallow containers, so when I water them it will drain out faster. Or if I do have to use a bit taller container, the lower half has styrofoam, so water will just flow out.

It is hard when it is raining that much. You may just have to shelter them indoors for now. Our conditions here are the total flipside..it is so hot and dry here, I am watering all the succulents twice a day now. That humidity factor is really a love/hate relationship with the succulents.
