I finally ripped out the Giant Hogweed that was growing in my beds yesterday. I had on like a full hazmat suit to do it, too. Tulle over my face and head, cap, full-coverage rain suit, long rubber boots and elbow-length rubber gloves. Whistling May seem like overkill, but I'm thinking that my skin condition might have been caused by pulling Hogweed weed unprotected last year. So, yes, please do have a care in removing any of these plants! It's a long-lasting, irritating and scarring affair if it gets on you and you're exposed to sunlight.
