Natalie, your ground sounds like ours! I got to use a shovel for about the first 8 inches of the holes I was digging for my new roses, and then I hit the rocks. Rolling my eyes. None of them were very BIG rocks, but there were LOTS of them. I ended up using a combination of my hand trowel, hand cultivator, and a short handled shovel. Took forever!
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
