stephgem, NOID = no ID (I didn't know that either for the longest time). I'm not completely decided as to which rose this might be. Where are those nifty NCIS DNA-ID-on-a-dime kits when I need one? I'm thinking of buying Sir John and The Dark Lady from Austin and putting all three in a bed by themselves. Physical comparison may be the final clue. The actual name doesn't really matter for me, it is the puzzle solving that is the thing! Short of that I may just call that shrub "Bob". I've always wanted to name one of our dogs Bob, but DH thinks that is not a good name for a dog. So, in a flight of whimsy, I may name it "Bob". Or more aptly "Lord Peter". Is there a rose named Lord Peter?
And yes, that was pure luck stumbling accross those $5.00 Austin roses. I had been debating with myself all morning whether to stop in at Chamblee's. And with a last minute swerve into the parking lot I parked and found Maria was wanting to show me around. I only wanted one rose, Honey Sweet (which I also got). She mentioned that I might stoll through the sales tent as some new plants had just been put in there. Ah, Maria, you happy little enabler you!
