A couple of days ago I was going through an old foot locker that had been in storage since the death of my first wife in 1998. I had forgotten that it even existed. Amongst various items in the chest I came across something that we had purchased over 30 years ago. We were both interested in houseplants and container plants but we knew almost nothing about them. In our search for readily available information she came across an ad in a magazine. Remember that this was well before the internet and the information we have available today.

It was called the Greenhouse. There were 25 theme card dividers with 25 plant cards to file behind dividers.

Each card had a photo with the name of the plant and growing information on the back.

One set of cards was devoted just to how to care for the plants in general and was called the Know and Grow cards.

Stored in the back of the greenhouse was a complete index to all cards in the set.

One of the neatest things of all was discovering the receipts for the monthly payments for the cards. They came 1 set at a time per month. It also brought back fond memories of just how meticulous my wife was about record keeping. As you can see the first one was purchased in the spring of 1978 and continued until 1980.

I am glad I went through that old chest. Finding this was almost as good as seeing a friend that you haven't seen in a long time. A real blast from the past for sure.
