Thanks for the ideas I really like the thought of the lithops and leaf cuttings that might work really well I have tones of lithops seedlings so may just give that a try. And Lynn the pots are more like 1 1/2" if you look at the white board that the posts are sitting on there are 1 inch squares in a grid pattern so you can see the pots almost cover 2 squares.
I will post pictures of the progress of the plants.
