I don't grow it, but I just Sherwin -Wright open a bloom (very short stalk), and I'm sure in my case, it's "stress-induced". Has it been in your garden long ? How was the spring bloom? Maybe you should let Rick Tasco know about it, and he could help shed some loght on it....Arlyn
