Ted, maybe you could just drop the Psychopsis into the next sized pot? That's what the grower did with my Laelia pacavia. It is in it's fourth pot now. It's happy, but I'm willing to forgo blooms for a couple of years since it has outgrown the 6" pot. Just a suggestion.
