Those work if you're sitting or standing near them...and they're pretty! If you want to have people walking around your garden without being carried away by mosquitoes, Cutter's yard spray is the best thing I've used. I spray it down toward the ground under the shrubs early in the day. That evening, the mosquitoes are gone. This lasts for three weeks if there's no rain or heavy sprinkling. I have a lot of vegetation that I don't want to discolor with bug spray. That's why I spray it toward the ground. Some plants are more sensitive, so may have spray spots, but they are better than getting eaten alive! Just my two cents worth!
