Not really sure how it got triggered to bloom..I just got it last June. I did not expect it either as I am used to plants dropping any developing buds once it gets to a new environment. But since it proceeded to bloom, I think it loves high ambient heat but still to be in part sun/part shade. And that is what happened when it came home, after about a week our heat wave came when ambient temps were not lower than 100F during the day with cooling down at night only at low 80's and after the heat wave our temps has been just at high 80's to mid 90's, night time at low 70's...then another heat wave, that is the time I saw it bloom. The care tag says water as it approaches dryness, made a deviation on it, since it is just too dry here, gave it just enough dampness on the root zone. It drys out so fast anyways.
