No, this isn't about a puppy named NOID, but I'd greatly appreciate your help in identifying these daylilies purchased over on LA last summer. The seller has been long in business, and I've purchased a number of her lilies prior to last year with only an occasional "oops". Last year four out of nine were mis-labeled, and I don't believe she sold anything on the LA this season. The three in question bloomed for the first time last week.
First up is an strikingly beautiful red and orange lily with approximately a 5" bloom and an 18" scape (a lot of my lilies are blooming on shorter scapes this year, so this one's height isn't very probative). It was labeled "Frank's Adorable Candy:
Next up is "Silver Rings" (not), a bloom that looks very familiar to me: it is very large, approaching 7", and cream with a blush of color on the distal petal surface:
The third, and most disappointing was sold as "Irish Spring Song", is a short-scaped, early season bi-color: soft yellow petals with cream sepals, a bit (sorry for the lack of precision) less than 5" across:
Anyway, before I posted their pictures up on telephone polls, I thought I'd present the mystery to you experts here. Thanks for your help!
