Bud count and branching is very dependent on weather, water, soil, and sun. I have daylilies that had over 50 buds per scape on 5-6 branches, every year, till the trees grew and shaded the plants a bit to much. This year they are lucky to have 2 branches with 8 buds. So, keep that in mind....

However there are plants that have very distinctive scapes and buds. Wigged Out, Sir Blackstem, Splendor In The Grass are some more extreme examples that come to mind.

That said, yes, it would be very nice to have more photos of plant habit for the database! I have taken quite a few when I visited various gardes, but I never sit down to upload them.... *Blush*
