The Chinese herbaceous perennial sages hybridize freely. In 2011 we bought seed from a very reputable company labeled as Salvia campanulata, We have grown the real campanulata for some time, and still do. This one is probably a hybrid, but still very interesting. From a compact rosette, the flower spikes are over 5 feet long, branched, with quite literally thousands of these one inch flowers. The plant is ten feet across! We will probably offer it next year - if we can get a better ID.
