Dave, your 'Black Cherry' is a beauty and it does look a lot like mine that was labeled 'Creta'(but in the database and elsewhere it's shown as 'Crete'! It's such a shame that nurseries put so many different names on the same plant but I guess it is possible that there are some variances in color/pattern that I just don't see.
I ordered two that are supposed to be Thai Aglaonemas from a co-op here on ATP recently; Aglaonema 'Valentine' and Aglaonema 'Anyamanee' ... but neither of them match photo's I've googled of those two! One of them looks a lot like my large plant ('Creta') and the other looks nothing like either Valentine or Anyamanee. The smaller of the two has dark pink veining on the reverse of the leaves; the bottom side is actually prettier than the top! I'm hoping the color is more enhanced as they mature. I love Aglaonema's, they seem easy care to me, doing well in lower light situations and getting pretty dry between waterings.
My large 'Creta' and the two I received in the recent Co-op:
Aglaonema 'Silver Bay' and the regular Aglaonema commutatum:
Two smaller A. commutatum plants:
I also have a couple in my big terrarium:
