I've been experimenting with combining Heuchera, Hostas, Hydrangeas, and Hardy Ferns with plants like Sedum, Delosperma, and Sempervivum. It sounds like it wouldn't work, but they look so good together.

They seem to enjoy the same lighting here. i just put the drought tolerant plants in well-drained soil in a hollow log and the others in the ground for more moisture.
