Thumb of 2013-08-09/gemini_sage/627e8e These are my tall ones that I started from seed (5 years ago, I think). I need to do some research, as I've lost track of the species name. First blooms came last year (2 bulbs flowered last year), and 3 this year. The blooms range from cream to greenish, all with purple ovaries, and they're about 30" tall. The petals have great substance, and remain attractive throughout seed formation, which is why they were allowed to go to seed last year. The last pic is the volunteer seedlings.

Here is E.autumnalis this year, and the volunteer seedling. That single large leaf has me wondering if that seedling is on its 2nd year- I recall newly germinated seedlings having narrower leaves (but then again, it was another species I started from seed, so this may be typical of E.autumnalis).

New photo program I need to get used to- sorry for the pics needing rotating. I'm better with bulbs than technology, LOL!
