Susan, it doesn't look bad at all. You can clean up the "roots and mess" a bit and simply tie it to a piece of wood and hang it up, or place it into a wooden basket. I like to use a bit of coconut fiber to anchor it. Fertilize along with your other plants. It is a good time to do this now, it will be fine. You will enjoy the nice blooms comes next Spring!
