Being in hanging baskets it's easy to just stick them in the greenhouse when the rains come. I was considering putting them in my front bed but nixed that idea because I was concerned people might actually steal them and there is really no way to control the soil moisture in a bed like that short of putting an umbrella over them.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
