I'm also fascinated by this, and bookmarked that article. I even have a tiny little cache of oryzalin (life-time's supply!) given to me by a very generous orchid hobbyist (what the heck would I have done with five litres of the stuff from the rural suppliers!?

Though safer than colchicine apparently.
