We deal with nutsedge here and it's a notoriously difficult weed wherever it occurs. When pulled, the plant leaves most of its roots in the ground which each then resprout new growth.

It is the one and only weed that I will use Roundup on, and Roundup is indeed effective against it. See below for Kent's good advice on treating this with Sedgehammer.
