I just drilled a hold in a bit of stone [i choose one with moss stuff growing on it]when the wife went to the shops ,made a hole in the wall and placed the stone into the hole ,she came home to find nothing different...
Then put another hole in the wall for the pipe/electric and the pump in the trough and presto...
