Most of the scapes I picked had only one starting to open bud. They were open the next morning. A few also had an unopened bud which opened this morning. Actually I don't know if they opened at night, or early morning! (I didn't wake up to peak.)
I don't remember the nocturnal/diurnal daylily pairings at Dave's Garden, but I was there; (actually I just renewed my subscription although I keep thinking I won't!),
