The grower that I bought my daylilies from is in zone 5, all of their potted plants stay outside for the winter, they are turned on their side and covered with leaves, most do just fine. When choosing a plant from the potted ones there, I picked ones that had survived the winter, I figured if they survived in the pot they should survive in the ground here. Hilarious!
