Last spring, my daughter-in-law asked if we would like to go to the daffodil festival. Of course, I was enthusiastic about seeing daffodils, however, I could hardly believe my eyes when we arrived at Gibbs Gardens. Jim Gibbs has been working on this garden for over 30 years and has just opened it to the public. The admission is a bit steep ($30) but you certainly get your moneys worth.

Jim Gibbs is usually on hand to answer questions or to chat with you. The garden covers 220 acres containing spring fed streams, ponds and lakes surrounded by hillsides covered with mature woodlands.

Thumb of 2013-09-02/rocklady/5eb2d8 We headed up the hill and could see drifts of daffodils on the hillside. Although almost at the end of the daffodils, there were still plenty for us to admire.

Unfortunately, on our way to the Japanese gardens and the Monet bridge, the battery on my camera died. The Japanese gardens are unbelievable. (DH has photos and I will try to post them later when he finishes the big project he is working on.)
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.
