I nipped a bit of time out of this morning's schedule to read a bit of the book. It's excellent, and I'm learning a lot already! Hurray! Thumbs up
I chose to start with a chapter that explains the why's and wherefores of non-native (alien) plants' interactions in an adopted ecosystem...fascinating (and kinda scary!) information. IMHO, this information should be read and assimilated by all gardeners, landscapers and industry professionals. And, as the front cover says, ...by anyone who has a backyard. Big Grin

He said something about a tree that was introduced here in the 1600s...300 years later, it has added a whopping 2 more species that it supports, because it's not native to here. And all my numbers are suspect, because it's a hazy memory. But it was an incredibly low number of species that it supported in 16-whatever, and not a very much larger number in 19-whatever. **shakes head**

I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I'll do that second week.
My yard marches to the beat of a bohemian drummer...
