The downy skullcap was growing in a friend's yard out in the boondocks when I dug some up and transplanted it here several year's ago. It spread fairly rapidly but is bound by a neighbor's driveway, the house and a field of ivy. It receives no special treatment, I've never fertilized it nor even allotted water thereto in times of drought. It's close by the front deck where my wife secretly sings to it; maybe that's why it does so well!
