I see! Perhaps that plant does contains a substance which kills the scale.

My Epiphyllum strictum bloomed again last night and we promptly forgot to look. Lucky for me, the morning here was a bit on the cool side and the bloom was still fully open. At least it was easier to shoot a couple of pictures.
