I have been fighting the invasive trumpet vine (they are native, beautiful). I do not have a large property, but still, it went from on side of the house to the other side, I have used Roundup too, but it did not work. The one that seems to work is VineX. I used it in Spring, but I will have to use it again, to those growing from my neighbors (right and left from my house). I cut it as close as possible from the roots and brush the VineX on the cutting. I managed to kill those climbing on my walls. I have not seen them there this year. You just have to keep doing it. I also have a lot of Bindweeds and Bermuda grass, I know I cannot do that with my Bermuda grass, but I am going to try with the bindweeds. In the past, I tried to dig the roots out, they go everywhere and are easily broken, but it did not work. They climb over my plants.
Anyone successful with killing these two pests?
I had wall to wall mugworts after the house was renovated. My helpful neighbor (unfortunately he moved away), who is a professional horticulturist, suggested Round Up, and after I bought it, he helped spraying them. Several times, several years. They still came up, even after he and his family bought a house and moved away. I looked in the Internet and found Lontrel. I had to be very careful not to contaminate myself and my soil. But boy, did it work! The following year no more mugwort, I killed them all. When I dug the soil to plant, I happily saw all the dead black long roots of the mugworts. The smallest size is a quart and it is VERY expensive. I bought it through my Rose club, because at that time they did not sell them for non-professional gardeners. But now you can buy them at Amazon, and cheaper too!
