I grow mine in pots since they have to be overwintered in the greenhouse .. they get about 3 hours of midday full sun. Like Elaine said, they don't react well to low humidity. I try to keep the soil moist but not soaking wet and feed them about once a month with Miracle Grow. The Black Bat blooms constantly but the White Bat hasn't gifted me with a bloom yet .. Come Spring I'll be repotting them both into larger pots .. So far, none have produced pups and I've never gotten a seed pod off of the Black Bat .. I've actually taken a flower apart trying to find the reproductive parts but have had no luck there - there is nothing that looks like a normal stamen or pistil.
The Black Bat is on the left and White Bat on the right:
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
