Greg----this is actually my second year. First year I tried to do too much, and the trunk got too wet, but seemed to not phase it. Last year I just used bubble wrap and the garbage bag. It was much simpler. But we had a very mild winter last year. I will do the same this coming year. Hopefully the trunk won't die. I planted a Ensete maurelii in the ground this spring and plan on wrapping it this winter. Wish me luck.
