I had an alice du pont that I purchased from Logee's and it died for me also. I have one old red one I have had for years and I put her out in the Spring and take her in the middle of Sept. Spray her with a soapy spray once in awhile since she is in the Greenhouse all winter and that plant never stops blooming. This year it was on the deck in full sun for the entire summer and she bloomed all the time. The hummingbirds love her. I just make sure she has plenty of sun and water in the GH. I do trim mine to keep it from getting too big to handle. I have no dormant time for the one I have since I have no place else to keep her.
