I got about 100 different ones of those little things this spring but that doesn't look the same as any I took pics of while they were still in labeled pots, sorry!

Did you have trouble getting the peat off of the roots? I'm so sick of that, lost a few new BBS succulents this year because I think I tore them up too much trying to get rid of the awful peat. Those I tried to cheat and just up-pot all died when it rained to much this summer. I knew that, but we all need reminders sometimes, huh? Yes, it still kills plants. Those that happened to come loose from their peat without such trauma are doing great.

Going to try to resist the urge to buy any more plants that look like that at the roots anymore if they aren't already big enough to propagate. The roots are doomed to die in that peat-ball. They all do. Leaving them in the tiny pots to blow into the neighbors yard isn't an option, and I don't have the patience to get them wet again when they get parched, which seems fine while at the store, but deadly at my house.

The rocks may be holding too much moisture at the surface.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
