It does look like a Sedum Tara.

I have several varieties that turn hot pink or orange-red in Winter, then back to green for Summer.

If it lifts right out of the soil without an effort and has poor roots, I would wash the soil completely off the roots and set it aside somewhere to air dry for several days out of the hot Sun;... then repot in a different mix with more grit, Pine bark fines, or whatever you use to increase drainage with, and see what happens. There is usually enough moisture in the new mix for it to grapple with while its rebooting itself at this time. I myself would then typically just whisp the watering wand over it after another few days.

With all the rains lately up there and humidity, mayber the soil is staying too damp? Smiling I have some of mine under a cover that can't take the Summer daily moisture too...
