I ordered lots of daylilies this year and had most delivered in September. I planted them within a day or so of receiving them. I had a late order from Nicole arrive in October. While I was planting I was shocked to see a scape on Wild Cherry Round Up! As of yesterday it was only an inch or so tall. We've been having very warm temps in NY the past couple of weeks so maybe the plant is confused? The question is should I cut the scape off since the plant has only been in the ground for a month? The weather is going to get colder so I doubt the flowers will ever open. Will it help the root system to cut it or will it prevent it from blooming next year? I've never had any daylily try to bloom so late in the year! Any advice would be appreciated!
